Sports and Leisure exhibition

Next month I will be taking part in a small exhibition curated by the marvellous Åsa Wikman. The exhibition will run from the 7th-27th June at  Exposure, and will celebrate all things sport, leisure, and free-timey. There are some excellent folk involved, including: Mogu TakahashiLorna Scobie (who made the brilliant flyer image below), Sarah RayMr Millerchip, and Karin Soderquist. Above are two of my A3 limited edition prints, which if you can't make it to the show, will be in my shop very shortly!

The private view will be the 6th June, 6.30-8.30. Those wishing to attend are kindly asked to rsvp to Åsa before the 4th June to asawikmanillustration [@] yahoo.se

Stationary

In my spare time I've been designing a chum's wedding stationary. I used to make patterns all the time when I worked in the studio, but that feels like ages ago so I was a bit rusty. Here's a wee peek of one of my efforts!

Busy busy busy. Perhaps I'll just rest my eyes for a moment...

Worst In Show at Bologna '13

Was mega excited to see this sneaky picture of my work on the Walker Books stand at Bologna Book Fair. Its from William Bee's excellent text "Worst In Show" which I started work on way back here. I'm keeping everything crossable firmly crossed that people like it.

If you're there today, keep a look out for Mr. Bee's penned and illustrated Stanley Hamster- It looks amazing!

Hope you're all having a very smashing time (and having better weather than little old me in snowy Worcestershire!)

DING-A-LING! The shop is OPEN!

After a short break my etsy shop is now back up and open for business. I've managed to reacquire a few more copies of the Girls Who Draw: Magic postcard book, and a couple more of my Hollow Log tote bags incase you missed them the first time round.

I've also added some brand new stock, including my new cards printed by the super duper Red Cap, and my Ratatoskr cushions which I designed for the Mythical Creatures exhibition back in February.

STOP THAT MAGPIE!

He's stolen MY SOCKS!

The Great Snortle Hunt on Bookaboo

Very excited to see that The Great Snortle Hunt was read out on Bookaboo this morning. Adam Beach was blooming marvellous!

You can still watch the episode on ITV player catchup HERE

Very much looking forward to watching the rest of the series, as there are some really great books lined up, including The Worst Princess, Ping and Pong are Best Friends...Mostly, and Good Little Wolf. You can find a full list of the first set of episodes of series 3 here.

New cards from Red Cap

The lovely lovely Red Cap cards have let me doodle six new cards for them- which is always a massive smashing pleasure.

Thank you very much Red Cap!

If you haven't already, you really should visit their website. They have also just published a whole new collection by the hugely talented Meg Hunt, which you will most definitely love as much as I do.

Bear With Me

I was mega excited to take part in the Bear With Me travelling sketchbook project, of which you can find all the details on here. Each participating illustrator is given a spread of a beautiful hand bound sketch book and has to continue the story of a little red bear character from the previous page, and then passes it on to the next. By the end of the project, 29 wizo illustrators (and myself, making 30) will have contributed to this fantastic handmade book, and it will get auctioned off to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Smashing! I really do urge you to visit their website as you will find lots more information about all the different artists and sneaky pictures of the work in progress (but no final spreads- we're saving those for the big reveal!)

Its been blooming marvellous and very scary to have a book full of amazing original artwork from top notch illustrators hanging around my house. If you follow me on instagram or twitter, its most likely you'll have seen my works in progress but here they are again if you missed them:
